First, let’s address the fact that solar panels aren’t going to provide you with enough power for your air conditioner. That being said, if you are planning to run the AC because it’s just too hot, you’re going to need a capable generator with an output of 2600+ watts. The same goes for if you want to use a microwave oven. But wait, who uses a microwave oven while camping?
In all seriousness, think about RV camping. RVs allow for the camping experience while still having all the conveniences. You don’t have to pitch a tent to go camping. And even if you do, there are some rather luxurious tents. And no one said you had to be completely unplugged. You can have that generator or those solar panels to help you have power. It’s not going to mean you have the cellphone in your hand 24/7.
Yet you know that for AC and the use of a microwave, you do in fact need a generator. Let’s say that you don’t need power for either of those two things though. That’s when the advantage swings to the solar panels if you ask some experts. They are a more modern solution, too. You are going to have to think about the costs of each, but then again, solar panels do indeed provide you with renewable energy. Perhaps you already have a generator, and you have been thinking about upgrading to solar panels.
Generators are going to saddle you with an energy bill each time you go camping. That’s one thing to consider when you are considering a switch to solar panels. Yet what’s the initial investment in solar energy going to cost you? You’re going to have to think about how much power you’re going to need, and you’re going to need to do some math. While solar panels are looking like a very attractive option at this point, let’s be clear about something before digging in too much further. It’s just going to be a matter of which one you want to go with.
